Because the rest of do not want it on above 40?
So all u need to do is get in and turn it on.
Likely u are the exception, not the majority.
Wow, who knew such a simple thing would cause people to be so damn rude.

In case you missed the point of the entire thread, it's having them turn on with remote start. Of course I can get in and turn them on. Hope you didn't think you were being clever to point out such a remarkable idea. Forgive me for thinking the user of the vehicle should be able to determine what temperature THEY think the heated seats and steering wheel should turn on at.

You do know that this is not something that has to come on when you start the Jeep, right? So if the "majority" don't want it on above 40, turn the thing off, just like those who don't want it on above 39, 38, 37, 36, 35...

Lmao, this is exactly how vehicles are designed.

Every bad idea or "dumb" decision in a consumer's eyes is generally the result of a bunch of conflicting internal opinions with a "pin the tail on the donkey" type game for picking the right value. Hmmm yeah, 40*F sounds good!
It is also often the result of a single Engineer/Designer arbitrarily picking a setting they deem appropriate. This happens more often than people like to think. Especially at extremely large companies. I've worked in engineering long enough to know that the mythos of well thought out, group decisions on every detail of a product is just that, a myth.

Rude? LOL - no, more tongue in cheek, and basically repeating the sort of response one gets when hating the ESS so much - push the button.
How the hell is that RUDE??

I push the damn button when I want the heat on the wheel when it's 45 and my Raynaud's kicks in on chilly days when I've been out working. I may push it again to turn it off when it gets too warm.

You are apparently the only one who saw that comment as rude -
You also seem to have missed the point - for all we know the vast majority, even studies, showed the population decided on 40 - perhaps from years of observation of other manufacturers? Everyone speculates - but say it was customer responses and real studies - then why should the majority choose to change settings or push a button if only a few want it on at a warmer temperature?
For all we know this could truly be a majority rules thing or real engineering studies behind it - or maybe it was determined it saved .0000001 hp keeping things warm. Everyone speculates and without any real knowledge of what this specific setting was based on, they throw darts and mock it. A pile-on mentality based on nothing.
This is hardly a first-world issue. It's exactly like ESS - push a button. You push a button to start it, you push buttons to get music, change song or stations or folders on your USB (or use voice commands, either way it's an action)
And yet............

Some people would prefer the majority turn it off rather than a handful have to turn it on.
Hopefully you accept what your local cable service chooses to provide based on user feedback and don't insist they change it because you don't like it, or who your city council hires as local police chief based on majority vote.

POLL - who else saw that as "rude" ??
