I have a heated steering wheel and I wanted to get a cover just to protect it from wear. But im wondering if i can even use one and what one will work. Does any one use one now? Or is this just a bad idea.

There are a few of the leather wrap type ones you stitch yourself on Amazon. I’d go that route before using one of the plasticy type things that are just stretch it on. The leather ones should take the heat better than the techy material ones. I’m considering it if mine starts to look the least bit worn. So far it’s holding up great though.

I actually got a set of steering wheel ā€˜grips’ that sort of snap on over the wheel and partially cover it. You can use them side to side or top and bottom.

They still allow the heat to work and warm the steering wheel up, while actually providing some extra bulk and grip to the wheel itself.

Just another idea that might work for you.

I've never worn out a steering wheel on anything and we've had several Jeeps go well past 200k. I think it's a solution looking for a problem but to each their own I guess.

Yes, it fits nice and tightly on the wheel and is ā€œgrippyā€ on the outside for my hands as well. It’s actually a pain to adjust and move if you put it on off-center as it fits so tightly. šŸ˜‚

That's what I did and it totally isn't compatible even thought it said it was.

Well I don’t think the one I got said anything about being heated steering wheel compatible, I mean it was off of Temu. 🤣

But as it doesn’t completely cover the wheel I can feel the heat when I turn the heating function on.
Plus j love the grip and feel of it, so I feel it was good value for what I spent and I totally feel like it’s part of the steering wheel now.

I ordered one of the stich-on leather covers and they are available in different sizes, just have to use the instructions they have for measuring the wheel. It fit pretty good, and I stitched it with the color I wanted. Pro tip, if it is too tight to get on wet it good and it will stretch.

The ones like Catty is talking about, especially the ones with grippy gels in them, transfer heat to hands very well.

Although I still find it funny I bought a Desert-Rated vehicle with an Arctic Package on it. Needs must.
