This one is going to be a love it or hate it type of thing...
I have had multiple turbo all wheel drive Subarus so, I've definitely got a soft spot in my heart for the Hella Supertone horns. Found them on Amazon for less than 40 bucks so I figure, if it's terrible, I'm only out 40 bucks!
My initial plan was to just put them on a momentary switch in my switch system but when I got started, I decided to leave the factory horns in place and tie the Hellas in with a relay so they get as much power to them as they can.
Super simple bracket to hold them centered behind the grill and we're off to the races!
I must admit, I've always liked these things for the way they look just as much as for their absolutely ear splitting obnoxious sound and they hit the mark on this application as well.
Here's the important part.
My decision to leave the factory horns in place definitely paid off. The mix of the two tones from the Hellas alongside the factory horns is absolutely perfect and SO LOUD! HAHA!
