Seems like they could've gotten the same result by just modifying + adding a bed to a JL. Why buy a Gladiator with a 137" wheelbase just to chop it down to match a JL's 120" wheelbase?
Heavier suspension under the gladiator would be my guess.

I was thinking that too, but they said that Savvy was replacing the suspension. I guess they still might be using the same basic rear structure of the JT's suspension.

I know the hellcrate is a minimum $20k just to buy, but is this build really $137k overall?!

If Jeep never makes a 2 door Gladiator I would love to buy a used Rubicon one day and chop it down to this. Wonder how much that would cost to have done. I can live with the 3.6.... for now.

The JT frame is considerably beefier, and the rear suspension is totally different from the JL as well.

I wouldn't mind chopping a Gladiator into a 2 door longbed.

The build:

The end result:
At the Patriot Camper Display at Overland Expo West. Go to 1:35:40. Yes, over an hour and a half into the video. Breaking the first rule of Journalism - don't bury the lead.

I’m sorry but I think they ruined it. Looks like something a dog catcher would drive. Their JL build came out a lot better. I just feel they missed an opportunity here to build the baddest JT around.

They met their goal. Might not be my goal, or your goal. But as an Australian style overland vehicle for marketing Patriot Campers at Overland Expo, they were successful.
