HELP! Black horse atlas install

Come on man! I was dragging frame, towing and literally up a creek before i hit 500 miles lol. But in all seriousness, keep it at your pace. Looking good man all in all.

My first new vehicle ever. Saved a long time to make it happen. It will see mud, eventually lol.
no rocks to climb around here.
it does snow A LOT here so there’s that lol.
I'm not worried about light trails for some outdoor fun. I'm just gonna baby it a while first. Enjoy that new car smell a while. Heck, seats aren't even broken in yet!

Hell, i took a 1993 ford ranger splash off roading. Buried it in mud got yanked out and did it again. It was 2wd!

I did see stuff like that on Amazon made out of rubber.

got the bars on today. Only complaint is I wish it was closer to the cab. Can’t be helped with where the tonneau lines up and the bolts in the front. Overall I’m happy.

I'm thinking about installing either the Atlas or regular Black Horse roll bar with the trifold, I'm just curious on how much of the trifold can you fold up with the Atlas bar? I've seen pictures of the regular one only go up to the second panel and the taper on it prevents it folding to the 3rd panel.

second flip will touch the bar. If i need to keep it open im sure a strap wrapped around it would work fine. In my case i hardly ever need it open like that.

Thanks for the feedback, out of curiosity if I get the Atlas bar and I don't install the shelf, do you think the side bars are wide enough at the top for it to fold all the way to the third panel?

the shelf does not block the flip up, the side bars do. I searched EXTENSIVELY for a "roll bar" (this will not protect in case of a roll over as much as you would think, its just called a roll bar. much like all Band-Aids are called band aids).

this is the only one i found to my liking that lined up with body lines and had the features I Wanted. I'd think the shelf is also integral to the rigidity of the bar itself.

also, the install will drive you kind of nuts. you have to remove your tonneau cover, install the roll bar supports then reinstall the cover through those precut notches. ALso, if you have the rough country cover you will need to redrill the brackets at the front of the cover because the roll bar install moves the cover slightly and those predrilled holes wont line up. Mins still sits a bit off, im going to work on it this summer and see if i can get it lined up properly.

pro tip. the star/ hex bolts at the bottom of the main bars will make you crazy trying to tighten them. I Literally could NOT find a better way to do it than do the "cover" pieces last. there are some small angled pieces that close off the bar supports. I left them out until i tightened down the hex bolts that mount the bars to the support. Sadly only way is by hand with an allen wrench, half a turn at a time...
I attached the angle pieces later with Black rtv sealant. It has held for over a year thus far with no issues. Just spread some out on the flat part, put them in and stick something underneath to support it while it dries. wipe off any excess so it still looks good. If you attach them the way the instructions say, they will be in the way when doing the final mounting bolts and you will be doing 1/4 turn with that allen wrench.

also, install EVERYTHING hand tight so the bar is a bit loose. then go back and tighten everything so you can make sure its all lined up the way you want.
