I posted this in general discussion but it might be better here-

Took the kids out tonight in the Overland 8 speed automatic to look at Christmas lights. When driving through neighborhoods at lower speeds, there seemed to be a lot of hesitation and very strange shifting happening. It would rev pretty high and take forever to shift sometimes and other times it would hesitate a lot and seem to bog down. I turned the ESS system off with no change. Anyone else experience this? Wondering if a trip to the dealer is in order.

One reply I got said he is now getting a new transmission, which has taken 4 weeks. This is my daily driver so I hope this is not the case! This truck hasn’t even hit 1000 miles yet.

Several people have posted about similar issues including me. I would say if it is something that you can easily reproduce for a service tech I would get it in now to get checked out right away.

We're sorry to hear about your transmission concern. Should you decide to visit your dealer, please feel free to send us a PM. We would be happy to offer additional assistance.

souds similar to an issue I had with my JK where one of the seals on the trans was leaking a little and overtime the fluid level dropped. The hesitation to shift and higher rpms are a symptom of that. Hope that helps

I had the same problem with my Rubicon that had less than 750 miles on it. 3rd day of ownership - went to shift out of 4H to 2H coming off a snow covered dirt road, loud clunk, transmission no longer shifts. Towed to the dealership and it has has been sitting since 12/7 waiting for a whole new transmission (apparently).

Every time I ask for an update on the ETA of the part it bumps out a week or two. Now being told it might(!) arrive 1/3.

Trying real hard to be patient but "Customer Care" is making that difficult...

Hope you don't have to go through this with yours...
