I'm replacing the stock all-season tires with their all-terrain brother, and the wheels I've selected are 17 x 8.5 with a -6mm offset.
The stock wheels are 17 x 7.5, with a 44(ish)mm offset. This results in a negative offset shift of ~37mm. On a Jeep, I'm not concerned
with any clearance issues, but I am wondering what effect that offset change will have on handling.

Unless you're racing your Jeep (or driving like it), none.

I do tend to push it through curves, like 70 in a (recommended) 45.
What will I notice? The little I found about scrub angle seemed to indicate that a little more negative offset was preferred.

Well, after about 5,000 miles on these, I'm happy to say that, if anything, road handling improved with the slightly wider track.
