Depends on which Rubicon springs. There are multiple part numbers and spring rates.I assume the rubicon springs are stiffer? I’m contemplating this same upgrade to my Willys. I added a steel bumper and winch and feel like I gained sag. Could be psycho-somatic but I really don’t like any rake. I already have a 1.5 inch spacer.
The rubicon take offs I used came from a gas, hardtop, with factory steel front bumper. If the trucks come with springs that are specific to weight on factory builds then the springs I used should be “stiffer/taller” than anything other than a diesel. I gained very little lift up front. I have now added a Mopar steel front bumper and skid plate. I’m pretty sure when I add a winch there will be some sag.I assume the rubicon springs are stiffer? Interesting. I did investigate some aftermarket springs from Synergy that are supposedly stiffer and claim to provide a bit of lift. You are not the first person that I have seen claim no real difference between Willy's springs/shocks, which makes me wonder if maybe just changing out the springs with something like the Synergy aftermarket springs is a better way to go. Especially of the Willys shocks are somewhat comparable to the rubicon Fox shocks? I know Fox from the mountain biking world are legit. That is probably why everyone is after them. The rubicon take offs I used came from a gas, hardtop, with factory steel front bumper. I noticed no ride difference between the factory Willys springs/shocks and the rubicon take offs. All I gained was a tiny bit of lift that was offset by the steel bumper I added.
I wonder if it would be ok to use the rubicon springs and go back to the red rubicon factory Willys shocks if say one of my take off shocks goes bad.
Check Rubitrix. I called this week and they have the diesel rubicon springs and springsYou gassers have it easy. You can trip and fall over 10 listings for Rubicon take-off’s where us diesel owners find one in a blue moon.
When I had the gas engine, I looked at picking up diesel springs to lift the front. My thinking was the diesel is heavier and the stock spring would lift higher than a comparable gas spring.
Are you looking for Rubi Diesel takeoffs? I have everything in a box sitting in my garage. Its has about 4500 miles on it.You gassers have it easy. You can trip and fall over 10 listings for Rubicon take-off’s where us diesel owners find one in a blue moon.

Is the suspension on the Willys the same as the sport trims? From what I have seen, the false assertion of the Gladiator getting the Rubicon Fox shocks was by people early on when the Gladiator Willys model was first announced. They made the assumption that since the Wrangler Willys JL got the JL Rubicon shocks which is like these red steel body shocks, the Gladiator JT Willys would get the Gladiator Rubicon Fox shocks.
In theory yes. The WILLYS is actually a Sport model with the WILLYS package. There will be some differences depending on options as to what spring rates and part numbers are assigned to each corner but basically a WILLYS model suspension will be the same as a Sport model sans the shocks. Is the suspension on the Willys the same as the sport trims?
