I’m looking for people to run Holy Cross in Colorado with. I’m confident that I’m built to handle the trail, but it’s not a good one to do solo in my opinion. Any takers? This should be for vehicles with winches, good skid protection, lockers, and probably 37’s, from what I’ve read. Schedule is flexible, as I’m less than 30 miles from the trail.

it's a fun trail. did it 3x in my JK Rubicon with 2.5 lift and 35's. i'm sure you'll find people around here to run it with you. if you are on facebook, i'd check out JK Colllllllorado, Colorado off road trail reports, the Epic 4x4 quest crew. i'm sure there are more groups down towards the denver area as well but since i'm up north i'm not on those.

Thanks. I’m looking forward to it. I’ve never been on Facebook, and never will. :) I’m sure someone on the forum will join. I’ve got a friend in Denver with a JL on 37’s who has done it as well. You don’t want to do it in your JT?

i think i would do more damage than i want with it. and being that long would have a hard time in a few spots.

It’ll be tough, but I can’t imagine as tough as the rubicon or cliffhanger. I did both of those with no damage.

did the rubicon in the JK, haven't done cliffhanger, but on HC there is one good rock climb and also a hard turn right after you get out of the creek that will be a little difficult (but do-able), but for me, with the $ i have spent on it, not ready to risk any damage to it yet :)

Fair enough. The money I’ve spent is mostly in protection, so that’s why it was spent, so I could do trails like this. :) but it really shows. Im almost ready for replacement belly skid panels.

I believe @Waggs have done it in his Rubicon D. I am sure he will have a good insight on this.

????

I did do it last year with another gladiator dude. I have a Rubi, so that's my base. At the time I had Metalcloak diff skids with all the OEM underbelly sheet metal.

My advice would be to start early (we started late and made it TO the 4th obstacle and turned around) , and go on a weekday to avoid traffic. It is an out and back, so challenges are BOTH directions. Otherwise it was a FUN trip and I might be talked into doing it again!

Me on the second obstacle (I think), I turtled here a bit before grabbing traction and getting over it.

I’d definitely do a weekday. Mine’s a rubicon (base) as well. You saw it when it was stock on mini Moab, and so was yours minus the diff skids. Both of them have changed a LOT. Early is easier for me as I’m pretty close. Let me know if there’s a week where you can get away.

How would you feel about a weekend? I talked to a couple of short wheel base guys who are interested, but can only do weekends, and right now July 15-16 is being discussed.

Nick Haskins of Far From Ordinary (<- I'm in this one? ) is interested too, and he has done Holy Cross City as well.
