The problem. I have the Gladiator and GMC Sierra, both with Homelink. When I programmed the Gladiator to the garage door, the GMC's Homelink stopped working. When I reprogrammed the GMC, the Gladiator's Homelink stopped working. I can't get them both to program without canceling the other one out.

I have had this issue before when I had 2 vehicles with homelink and I am having it now. Hopefully someone on here can tell me if there is a solution.

What process are you following? My first guess is you are unintentionally resetting the garage opener every time you program a vehicle.
I follow the process per the manual. Garage door opener synced to the Homelink, learn button on the drive unit to the Homelink. It works. I go and learn the other truck, and it works. Go back to the first truck, it doesn't work anymore, rinse and repeat. I have tried using the 1st button in one, and second button in the other, still won't work in both of them. Very annoying.

Our Subaru does not have is problem, it is able to work, it is only the two that have the Homelink branded equipment that cancel each other out.

Not knowing your garage opener model, I would double check the step "learn button on the drive unit". From openers we've had over the years some touch once to enter learn, some hold for a few moments to learn, others you have to hold it and the truck opener to learn etc. Whatever you are doing here is likely resetting it and entering learn mode, instead of just learn mode.

As you mentioned this happens across vehicles and in the past, it's got to be something there.
Or, your opener model only supports one connection. Which would be odd for anything newer than like 2000.

It's a Genie opener. It works fine with our Subaru, it holds its programming. It just happens with the Homelink equipped vehicles. But your right, I must be doing something. I can't be the only one with two Homelink equipped vehicles that is having this issue.

One vehicle does hold it? Now that makes it more interesting.
Did a quick search, and they seem to have a specific set up instructions for HomeLink set up. Is this different than what you've been doing?

That's what I am doing. The part about the green light is interesting. I have never seen a green light on my remote.
I guess I can just go back to carrying a remote around, but I really like the convenience of the "built in" operators.

Could try learning it to the remote, the first steps there, instead of the opener. (Guessing you were doing the second set of steps since it is the only spot that mentions a green light).

Unfortunately about out of ideas from remote help. Maybe YouTube has a guide for two HomeLinks?

When you are programming are you programming teh homelink to the GDO operator or are you programming the GDO remote to the homelink?

Some operators can only learn one remote code. I recommend using a working handheld remote and program it directly the the home link buttons in the vehicles and use teh same remote for each vehicle.

This is what i send to my customers.

PM me if you need a deeper dive. I may be able to help.

Have you tried it with one of the vehicles parked out of range? Send the wife down for a loaf of bread and try it. Just a guess.

I've got 3 HomeLink vehicles (Jeep and 2 Fords) that all work fine with 2 different doors. So pretty sure it's not a HomeLink shortcoming.

sometimes you are overwriting teh code by programming multiple codes. Some GDO receivers will only learn 1 code. The GMC and Jeep are programming different codes. so instead of programming the code to the GDO you need to program the code to the Vehicles so they both have the same code

I am using the same Genie Hand held remote in each vehicle, I program the hand held to the home link and then go to the learn button on drive motor and link it to the Homelink. It just can figure why when I learn one, it cancels the other.

I wish I could figure out the way to word the problem to do a better search.

Just do one. make sure the remote works the Genie then program that remote directly to the HomeLink in the vehicle, then test the HomeLink.

Do this for both vehicles. Don't turn around and program the Homelink back to the Genie after training the Homelink button.

A common feature for these GDO's is the remote programming is a learn/delete process. The same button learns and deletes remotes.

For example: you learn the remote to the head unit, it works. You then program the car with the remote the program the car to the head, you just deleted the code.
