Hood Ornaments

I was searching vintage emblems. My thought was find something from the past to incorporate its history to the new Jeep Gladiator.

While searching I found this. Then it hit me. I do have a truck and why not? But i could not find the link after selecting image. I thought it was for sale?

Maybe someone could fab a modern hood onament that captures Jeeps history with a modern twist?

Here are some other ideas I was thinking. But the thought of drilling holes in the hood, cringe.

I may look for an aftermarket hood or takeoff hood.

Hood ornaments can be a pedestrian's nightmare but I like them and I like a lot of old school stuff. I used to see them on must cars built and JC Whitney sold a bunch of them.. I'm old and like chrome and I like a modern style to. This is an hood ornament I would not want to run in to me.

Most of those could be modified to use emblem tape and avoid the dreaded hood drilling.

I had checked out a few of those hood Ornaments at a Hooters car show but I knew my wife would make me take them back.

So I need to find someone who could mold this gladiator to fit an existing mount with base. I would like the ornament base contoured to hood.

Of course it will need to be spring loaded as to not break it off when wheeling. We have lots of trees here.

And the finishing touch, matching it to the gladiator so it has some contrast. But not chrome.

What about using a hood edge protector and mount the ornament to it.
