HOOD SWAP 392, Mojave or rubicon

Anyone ever added a 392, rubicon or Mojave
Hood to a sport model. I wanna know if it’s a compatible swap or do I need hood springs and cowls.

Hood to a sport model. I wanna know if it’s a compatible swap or do I need hood springs and cowls.

The original rubicon style is a direct swap.

Some of the new sports are coming with the Mojave style hood and the higher cowl, but you have to swap all of the parts over.

And a Mojave or 392 hood has different sized cowl pieces, plus a lot more weight. Adjust fire accordingly.

Mojave hood is a boat anchor. Hood struts will be next on your list of mods.

As noted, the cowl pieces are much different between the two. Mojave and 392 are both steel. Rubicon I understand is aluminum. The redline struts were one of my first mods so I didn’t get guillotined by the hood.

I had the biggest smile on my face when my mechanic popped the hood for the first time and went, "Oh, thank God...".

Struts for the win.
