I am looking at expanding from my 5x8 enclosed trailer to a larger tandem axle trailer. I'm looking at anything from a 6x12 to 7x16.

I know the trailer is rated to 7k lbs, but I won't be loading that much weight in it; probably won't weight anymore than 4500-5000lbs total.

Suggest you refer to pages 214-217 in the owners' manual. Remember gross vehicle weight includes all passengers and contents in the Gladiator..

Understand... It's more of a question; how big box on wheels can I pull behind the Gladiator, while keeping it within the weight limits.

Personally for a max tow on this platform I worry more abought the tail wagging the dog than anything. Frontal wind load is a big issue for the rig as well. A lot of guys don't see that frontal area chart in the manual.

A lot of folks have 8' wide rigs with slides 22-25+' and pushing 6000-6500 if not more loaded. That's to big imho.

I would limit to a 7x 20' and 6500 less trailer.

My trailer will be a 7x16' V nose at 6000 pounds max if it has full water and the bike, normally around the 5000 mark ready for the road.

All that said, I live in an area where it's long drives, up grades in the summer heat at 4k+ elevation all over.

If your low flat and cooler, you'll have easier time of it.

Thank for the information.
My next trailer is going to be a V-Nose.
