Not sure why I went down this rabbit hole..

I always thought I had my falken at3w 285/70/17 programmed right with JScan (~32.75) but measuring the tire from my garage floor to the top of the tire with a 4 foot level - the tire height is reading 31.5 (with psi at 36).

Am I going crazy or measuring wrong or what?

Are my 33inch At3ws really less then 32”!?

I measured my tires by putting a piece of tape on the ground next to tire and a piece on tire. draw a line to match up. roll forward or back till the tape and line is perpendicular to the ground. put piece of tape and draw line. measure the distance between the lines on ground. google circumference calculator. i did this with 105.5 circum and it calculated to 33.58. my speedo is pretty dead on with gps speedo

Yeah I hear you on the Rabbit hole I do that often haha. But yes could be correct on diameter how many miles do you have on them? Since you put 285/70/17 are these C rated? or did you get the D or E rated. So based on miles and how many ply's could be at 31.5.

Is your odometer correct? Use a GPS app on a device not connected to the truck. Use the trip meter and compare the distance covered with the app. If they don't match, then start worrying about it.

So those are standard passenger tire. Standard load I believe they are three or four ply brand new they have 13/32’s worth of tread depth, Same tire in a C rating LT 285/70 r17 which is 6 plys starts its life at 18/32’s worth of tread depth. So with 17000 miles it’s possible for sure. And of course so give or take for air pressure, how you measured and what not.

We’ll… I started this thread over a year ago and I’m ashamed to say I just now installed and used it.
And it’s AMAZING! Should’a done this long ago. Super easy to hook up, and connect to. ( just like you all said) .
Only used it for tire size and TPMS, which it worked perfectly for. Oh and that Trail View is awesome, messed around with sway bar and lockers….so cool!
Anyway, if you‘ve been thinking about it, Just Do It!

I also use it to raise idle for winching, or using the JT to jump start another vehicle.

It's great for troubleshooting and logging any misfires, as well

I have a Tazer and it's a love /hate relationship. I have the extension cable if I have to do a dealer remove. I would go with the J scan if I had to do it again. Using the steering wheel switches really suck, IMO. The thing does more than I need.

I thought the extensions were a "must" for a 2020 and 2022 - holy shit (can I say that here and not get banned?) - the 2025 is WORSE by a long ways.
I literally almost gave up.
On my others, I could access the SGW without pulling trim. On the 2025, not possible and I literally could not see straight up to the plugs. I had to use a stiff wire taped to the extension to get them plugged in. I had to pull on the wires while using a fingertip to press the latch to get the factory cables unplugged.
I swear - if I ever have to do this because of a trade in the future - the next owner will have pre-installed extensions. It ain't worth the money of the extensions to pull them back out again.
