I'm thinking about scheduling my bedliner and I'm curious how others went about it. Did you line the whole bed, including the rails? Remove the factory plastic rails? Not do the rails at all? Coat over top of the plastic?

I will also, at some point, install an ARE CX cap, which makes me wonder if I should line the bed rails as well or leave them alone?

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

The shop I used did a fairly good job at removing the bed lights and service hole cover bolts before they lined it. Im not sure if they took the top plastic off or if they taped it but they did not spray over the plastic. There was a note for the sprayer to make sure to spray underneath the bottom of the top rail on the bed sides.

I don't have the trail rails but Im sure they would have removed them before spraying, a decent shop shouldn't have any issue doing that.

I have some pics here.

Do not bed-liner spray over the top bed rail caps, you will regret it.

Most reputable shops can advise "the best way" per vehicle. Lessons learned myself with Line-X on my MJ... On that I should have listened and went over top and down 1/2 in. But truck with plastic bed rail top covers different game.
