I suspect that I have a bent pin or two in my harness that’s connected to the car side of my drivers side door. Is there any way to remove the attached harness to examine the pins easier? Or should I just take it in to the dealership?

Car is brand new, only 400 miles and have had it less than a week. Before I drove off the lot the salesman went to show me how to use keyless start and it wouldn’t work but we got sidetracked so I completely forgot to follow up before leaving.

Dealer, straight to dealer, do not touch a thing. Remind salesman that remote start wouldn't work BEFORE you go to service department.

Yep that sounds like a bent pin. Did you take the doors off at all? If not, make sure you tell the dealer that as well. If you choose to disconnect it yourself, then you can take the pin end off the side with a flat head screwdriver and it is much easier to turn and see what's going on. Then you can very carefully try to bend the pin back.

Very curious to see what the dealer says, but I know if you tell them you took the doors off, then they'll tell you it's user error and not covered under warranty. Also I believe their fix is ripping apart the dash to put a whole new connector in, and I'm sure it's not cheap.

I took the doors off the second day I had it, but had the problem prior to that. I go in tomorrow to have the windows tinted, I’ll let them know and depending on what they say I guess I’ll figure it out from there
