Hi, I am a 2020 Jeep gladiator owner. I bought my Gladiator with manual transmission and 3.6 engine. The Jeep gladiator come with the trailer wires and plugs, but there is no trailer hitch receiver. I am thinking to install the hitch receiver and I am looking forward to buy a 12 ft enclosed trailer for my staging business. I see the trailer weight is about 1700 lbs. And the furniture that I need to tow is less than 2000lbs. I am not sure if I should tow this trailer. Because I see the towing capacity is 4000lb, is this good enough for towing this trailer? Thank you.

With a manual transmission in anything but a Rubicon it's 4,000 pounds.

There's a little bit more involved than just the trailer and cargo weight, but your proposed 3,700 pound total you should be fine.

Don't expect to see sixth gear and your MPG could go single digit.

Well if you keep it in 1st gear and under 8 mph I believe you should be able to get away with 10-12,000 lbs but only if you avoid reading the manual as it will say a measly 4,000 lbs, c’mon the original wartime Jeep was used to haul multiple train cars and it only had 60 hp on paper.

Remember though without a receiver hitch your truck did not come with a tow package so you didn’t get the heavier duty cooling fan for what it is worth and if you don’t get a receiver you have to tow by punching a hole into the rear bumper for a ball hitch.
