You'd have to have a much more dirty mind to follow my thoughts on lubrication for these things ...

No, it really only needed a single tab depressed and then wiggled out. It was just "stuck" and felt like I might have missed another tab or so. The easiest way for me was to push it out of the bumper so I could inspect it and then it become relatively easy.
Been down that road - sometimes you have to see it to know which lock to pull out so you can slide a latch out so you can press a tab.......... it's silly.

That’s funny, I had to remove my bumper last night to install a new one and I disconnected the pin plug, but it went like butter……

You want them to be watertite
Watertight is a secondary concern, manufacturers want them first and foremost cheap. If they corrode, as long as it's out of warranty, they don't give a shit.
