Our sons max tow....

Everything is STOCK except the following......

33" Rubicon wheels and tires (Free)
N-Fab steps ($400 Amazon)
Gladiator hood sticker ($20 Amazon)

Ive been told and seen here on line, this is the biggest tire size you can go without a lift on any of the trims except the Rubicon. A Rubicon can take a 35" tire with stock suspension (my other two) but need a lift for 37's.

Hope this helps

You can actually run 35s on stock sport with the correct set up. I run the kendas 35x10.5R17 and didn’t have a lift on for a month with no issues with rubbing.

Did you take it off-road during that month without a lift? I think that is where the problem of rubbing comes in.

How do you like the N-Fab steps? I was looking at those myself.

Well thats an outdated picture....

We have two sets of them on two of our Gladiators. Mine does not have them.

We understand these are steps and offer probably some protection against rocks when off road.... but as steps, they work great!

It's about 15 min a side to install and a helper is great for about 1-2 minutes to help hold while you get the first 2-3 bolts in.

They are $404 on Amazon and are the "Amazon's Choice" currently only two left
Heres a link if you want to check them out....

As a side note if you search others steps.....we returned the triangle shaped Tyger ones that are $369.... They mount very low and the pinch seam underneath was still really visible..... we wanted it hidden and covered.

Hope this helps.

I did some mild trails with no issues. If you were going to do some serious rock crawling there would be rubbing but I wouldn’t do serious rock crawling on 35s anyway....not to mention this is my daily and will take it easy...at least until the warranty runs out

Thanks! How far are you pulling, and what kind of mpg you seeing?
My normal tow with the boat is around 10 miles, only long distance tow so far (300 miles) was with my enclosed motor cycle trailer and I got 14-15 with it. with my Harley in its probable weight was under 2000 but the wind resistance felt like it was heaver than the boat. If every thing works out I plain to tow the boat to the keys this winter.

So, after more careful thought and consideration, given everything that's going on in the world these days, pulling the trigger on this probably isn't the cards just yet. As much I enjoyed tooling around in the rental, just can't justify a new vehicle right now. Maybe in the (near) future; the new diesel has me intrigued, so something I'll be keeping my eye on.

Thanks everyone for your hospitality and willingness to share info, it's greatly appreciated. I hope you don't mine me checking in now and then to see how things are progressing and what you fine folks like/don't like about your vehicles.

Maybe you'll see me out there sporting round headlights and short bed one of these days - never say never.

Cheers!

This is an overland that has true 35 inch Toyo " Open Country " M/Ts with a Mopar 2 inch lift. It is about the biggest tire you can use with a full size spare under the bed.

Been tooling around today with the overhead panels off. Really like that.

This could be bad... very bad. :)
Do you finally understand what this Jeep thing is all about now? You can ride in a convertible car, or a boat, or whatever...Even riding in someone else's Jeep with the top off, but it's just not quite the same as driving your own Jeep with the top off. That's when it finally hit me. :like:
