...and I halfway expect them to start charging extra for some colors, as other FCA company's do. But hey, I'm a cynic.

Talked to my dealer today...... He's saying from his experience Hydro Blue won't be available til after the end of the year. He said it's the way they do it, release a few colors, get everybody hyped up, then wait til the existing colors are blah, blah, then BAM, release new colors to get everybody hyped again! To say the least, I was devastated, how could they do that? Why would they do that? Well the answer is simple, they do this to keep people on the hook for as long as possible with the hype, either they purchase an existing color, or they wait! They hold ALL THE CARDS, we are just pawns in this chess game, sure they will lose a few sales, but overall THEY WILL WIN! I'm not sure as to the validity of this, but that's what I was told.
All that being said, I'm really thinking about getting a white one and wrapping it whatever COLOR I WANT!!

White is the worst to wrap you’ll see it peaking out everywhere. Get black or grey

Well, that's "based on his experience", which I don't put much stock in to be honest. Did you mention that some late availability colors have already been released, or that FCA had a timeline for ALL the colors that doesn't align with his experience?

This further solidifies in MY mind that the dealers have absolutely no idea. Until I hear something like that from a dealer that got that information directly from FCA or from FCA MYSELF (or via a forum member), I'm just going to assume the original date has slipped and they don't KNOW when they are going to start with the blue.

I WILL say if it isn't available to order til next year, 5 or 6% under invoice for a 2020 won't be good enough for me anymore. It'll need to it be that price off a 2021, or a deeper discount for the 1st year model. They "hold all the cards" til they have too many 2020's sitting on the lot with 2021's rolling out.

I was chat this morning with FCA and I received this information. It’ll be maximum end of october! But I tink it will be before that! This quarter :)

This I believe since I've been hearing more of later September early October for Hydro. They may just release it on October 7th when the body matching hardtop is scheduled to be released.

I think they are just waiting on the strike vote. I think that the dealers that are giving dates like "I heard early next year" are just hoping we will cave and buy something they all ready have on the lot.

If the UAW strike vote goes the way it's headed, there WILL be a strike. If this is the thing holding up new colors, then I don't think the close of the vote is going to help. New colors won't be started until after the strike is over at best, or until new contracts are signed at worst...IF it is those issues keeping production of those colors from happening.

That said, it's obviously more important for those people affected directly and MY WANT of a new Jeep is far less important. I hope a satisfactory resolution comes quickly for the sake of all those workers.

That is what I meant about the vote. I am also hoping they are able to come to a satisfactory agreement, especially since the sticking point is about the cost of health care.

I wonder if they go wide open until a pending strike? So the UAW workers can at least make some money to live off of during a strike. Maybe keep the lines running 24/7 ?

I find it kind of odd that the only recent "news" I can find about the possible strike are on the World Socialist Web Site and WXYZ.com... hmmm Why wouldn't the normal news stations be reporting about it?

I heard from my salesman today. Here's what he said, "I just spoke with our Jeep rep and he told me that both the blue and the tan [Gobi] are in the quality /testing stage and both should be available soon if no issues."

He is thinking September sometime...

As usual, I will believe it when I get the call to come in & order my truck!

EDIT: he thought BOTH Hydro Blue & Gobi would launch in September.

I noticed that too. I was wanting to read something a little less... ummm... biased. There's practically nothing out there, at least nothing recent.

Not sure what to make of that.

It's my fatalistic nightmare to have my truck built, get to the very last stage of employee related work before shipping, and they go on strike for 3 months, and there my truck sits. :headbang:

Well I guess we've all just about given up on ordering a Gladiator this month! WTF, I can't believe someone doesn't know when they are going to release Hydro Blue!!!! If you think about it, the Bikini color on the JL/JLU was a "late availability" color and it took almost a year to release it!! Hope that's NOT THE CASE with Hydro Blue!!!! Hey FCA / Jeep Cares, if your monitoring this thread, please speak-up!!!!!

I was this --> || close to caving & joining the Flame Red (Edit Firecracker Red) club instead of holding out for Hydro Blue. Dealer has a red Sport S with tan interior, been tempting me...The 8-speed AT is nice, but for me a Jeep MUST have 3 pedals / MT! (Also, I want dual tops).

Dealer thinks 2 colors will be opening in September...I hope he's not blowing smoke!
