I Got Ducked.

I'm 16 days into Jeep ownership and I got ducked today. Being new to the game and while I had heard about Jeeps and ducks, I never gave it much thought. Today I walked out to my Gladiator and there on the door handle was a duck. Found out it was my girlfriend, so apparently she had heard about it too. Well, to be able to sleep soundly at night, I couldn't just toss it aside, so now it rides up front.

Yeah I used to work for the Navy and made many trips (TDY) to San Diego. Just about every trip I would hear about cars being broken into or stolen.

I had my Jeep almost a year before I got ducked. I have to admit, it made me smile. I don’t want them on my dashboard so I put it on another Jeep to give them the same smile. Pay it forward.

Nothing more sad regarding this activity than seeing someone toss the duck on the ground or say something hateful if the ducker is still there when you get to your Jeep. Sure, I understand some don't want anything placed on their vehicle. If someone you didn't know walked past you and said HI or Have a nice day, would you tell them to shut up and leave me alone, because you don't like talking to strangers or anyone for that matter ? Just put it inside and maybe pass it on to someone you know that may get a smile from getting a cute plastic toy from you later in the day. Sure, someone is sitting on your vehicle or inside it, that's a totally different thing to be upset about IMO.
