Finished the install yesterday. Overall, very satisfied except for the cheesy retention strap. It came with a spring loaded toothed clasp but it loosens up after a few hours. Going back to HF to plead my case.

As an FYI, I wasn't going to spend over 300 bucks on an AMP. I see the one you noted on Amazon for 160. As any FYI, multiple sellers on that now on Amazon. I see prices as low as 110, most in the 120/125 range. I did that with my Ram 2500 and the knockoff steps came with OEM step install instructions without the RAM identifiers. I'm gonna jump on this as after the Tariffs, God only knows what it will cost.

Exactly, but you also have to factor in a safe climbing angle.

This will obviously differ from individual, but that's why I considered the HF model to short. It's max adjustable height is 43-3/8".

Maybe the heavy duty version linked @ 45" would provide the extra length for a safe climbing angle.

I'm sure someone could fab something the help, but so far I haven't found anything out of the box long enough for my liking.

I would not feel comfortable with it at basically a vertical position.
On a Ram HD, I'd agree with you but it's not that high up. All you need is a drop down step thats slightly off the the side to get up in back. I have a Ram with that. This has dropped in price over the last 8 months from 160 to 125 now. 1C6HJTAG4RL109352

Another "brand" likely identical is as low as 110 on Amazon.

I usually don't advertise, but I have disabilities, so I have to take extra care, when climbing, stepping up... ect. So I prefer the extra length to provide a better angle. I think it was @ShadowsPapa or someone that had a great idea for a handle to grab onto at the top (attached to the corner of the bed).

I'm glad you found what you were looking for.

Take some pictures and share how you mounted it.

I apologize. I haven't gotten yet for the Gladiator. On the Ram it was 30 minutes easy. This one looks even easier. I got to admit that thing looks interesting the way it goes right up against the tail gate not taking up any real space.

No apologies needed.... I was just clarifying why I like a longer mire stable ladder. I was actually thinking of using a regular household ladder and using the bolts already on the tailgate to strap it down, that way I could use the ladder anywhere.

Laying around... Stupid as it end up by the cab with the tonneau on... I"m thinking I'll just get a short bunjee cord and put it on and hook to the loop hook in the back of the bed on one side or the other.
