So I have been in the market for quite some time now for a way to store and organize extra "stuff" in the bed of my truck, without everything rolling around. Straps, tools, tow gear, even some camping stuff. The storage underneath my back seat was basically filled to capacity they day I bought my truck! LOL. And I would have also liked it to be easily removable if i needed the whole bed. Did I mention I also have a hard tonneau cover?
Pelican I know came out with a sweet cargo case albeit for $350 and Roam has a rugged line of cases as well north of $250 also. So low and behold, my buddy bought two of these DeWalt Extra Large Tool Boxes (DWST08204) for his wife's jeep, and upon checking the dimension, 2 of them would fit perfectly tucked in the bed of the truck nearest the cabin. Look at the pics below, and WOW, they fit back their perfectly! You will still have to strap them down, but I am impressed how perfect they fit back there and I can take them out if and whenever I need to.
If anyone is looking for an inexpensive and durable solution (IP65 water and debris resistant), these are are $50 each! However I think these are last years model, so I would act sooner than later.
I hope this post helps someone else find what I was looking for! Stay tuned for an update when i actually fill them with "stuff".
