Does anyone have an explanation for the information center going black? I am talking about the screen between the speedo and the tach, also the transfer case indicator in the tach. Everything works fine including the cruise control. It is a 2020 Rubicon with about 25K miles. Thanks for any input Brad.

Did you hit the button on lower right of instrument cluster to black out the screen? Be nice if it was that simple……Jack

Went to the dealer. After about an hour they said the gauge cluster would need to be replaced. $1200.00. Luckily I am still within the warranty period. They wanted to give me a rental and let my Jeep sit there until the part comes in. They have no idea when they will get the part. They said they "don't want me running the miles up because that would give me more warranty length" ???.

Needless to say I actually purchased my Jeep because I need one. I use it every day around my farm especially when it rains and this day it was pouring. Not to mention I don't want it sitting around outside, it is in a garage every night. Also if it was vandalized or stolen from their property I would likely be on my own with the insurance company.

I drove it home and am now awaiting their call about the arrival of the part. I will post when there is something new.

Federal law on odometer replacement states they have to either put in a replacement cluster with the exact mileage or one with zero miles and put a label in the door jam stating as such. So they do not want you putting miles on and having a mismatched odometer.

You have to pick your poison of what you want? The odometer programing is contracted out third party from the dealership so they cannot program it onsite when the part come in.

They explained the first part but left out the sticker on the door jam part. I just wasn't going to leave my truck sitting out at their dealership for an indefinite period of time. This is already inconvenient I don't need a missing catalytic converter or who knows what else.

If they have to put a zero'd out odometer in your vehicle, the next time you have any state inspection or change of title that requires a new recording of your odometer and there is a discrepancy, your vehicle will be flagged and have a "branded" title. A branded title will affect the resale value of your vehicle.

I will put this out there but there is also third party companies that can flash your odometer to whatever you want it to be. That being said, the vehicle PCM records a master odometer mileage regardless of whatever cluster you put in. This of course opens another can of worms if you still have warranty left and the dealership finds a mismatch that does not jive from whatever cluster was a warranty replacement they put in and can deny the remainder of your warranty.

For the record, I do not care what you do. I just wanted you to know the risks of whatever decision you decide to make.

Yea they have to order the gauge cluster with exact mileage, they can’t put in a new cluster with incorrect mileage. I went through the same thing twice. My truck sat for around 4months total. And I still have a messed up cluster.

Still no repair made. It has been 54 days. Dealer says part is " in shipping". ???? Can I force the dealer to pay for the third party programing of the odometer? Do you know any contact info for one of these companies?

The parts guy called today and said the part will be delivered on 1/19/2023. I am not holding my breath. They said it shipped today 12/30 from Minnesota. I guess they are sending it with a bicycle messenger. I just need my truck fixed. Going to look at new Broncos next week. I really like my JT just don't like the way this has been handled.

It is January 28, 2023 and the jeep is still not fixed. Dealer and Jeep Cares just keep giving me new delivery dates for the part that come and go with no part delivered. But look what I found that solves all of my problems. Going to talk with them over the phone asap to verify a few things.

CaRobotor

Check them out!!

My car just went in today to get the gauge cluster replaced. Was initially brought in back in December and the new cluster just showed up yesterday. Really hoping the issue is resolved.

Figured you were probably a member here. We met a few weeks back at the Middletown ROFO. Exchanged pleasantries and remember you mentioning your cluster going out. Glad to see you are getting it fixed.
