Went to install the cover today on my Gladiator. Went smooth until I got to the Brackets on the front of the truck bed. Top hole is as it should be but the bottom hole is not threaded and it should be. Will the dealership fix it? That bottom hole is suppose to be threaded.

Obviously not Extang's fault.

Pretty sure neither of my holes were threaded when I installed my cover. I did what I could and said f** it, it's not gonna matter. Hasn't mattered.

Here is a YouTube about installing it. About mid way through it shows how the front brackets are installed.

Not to knock the extang but watching that video of the installation makes me happy I got the Tyger over the Extang, no brackets required on the Tyger, just 4 latches, took me 10 minutes to install mine and it's been a good one.

I recall reading about others with the same issue. In this thread there are even pictures of two different setups, one with 2 circular holes and another that has 1 hex and 1 circular. Some have a threaded bottom hole and others do not. It’s certainly odd that it wouldn’t be consistent.

The threaded nut was left off the 2021's( and maybe a week of 2020's ) no one knows why.

Guess I am going to get a new install kit that takes care of the missing threaded hole and does something else to install the front of the cover.
