The aFe Super Stock CAI (Summit Racing 55-10009D $219.00) replaces the stock air tube with a larger more streamlined version and a dry cone shaped high flow air filter the stock airbox is retained. I tried this install using the original 3.6L air box lid and revised 2024 2.0L Turbo lid.

I used the new 2.0L lid because I new it was now larger than prior years and resembled the Mopar CAI lid. I had a 2022 JL Willys w/ 2.0L turbo and traded it for a 2024 JLUR w/ 2.0L. For 2024 the 2.0L now has a FCA turbo, larger inlet tube and larger air box lid.

The revised 2.0L lid (Mopar Part 68628324AA $22.15 ) is like the Mopar CAI lid (minus the exterior graphics) both have 4" outlet and smooth inside the previous 2.0L lid was 3.25" like the 3.6L lid. The 2.0L lid results in a throatier sound versus the stock 3.6L lid (I tried both).

Fitting was needed for the 2.0L lid trimming 3/8" off on end of the outlet tube and get a 3.25" x 4" x 3" long rubber coupler (ebay $12.99) and trim 1/2" off the 3.25" end.

The best part is that it's way cheaper than the Mopar CAI 77072433AC for $640.00. I'm not ever intending on cutting my hood like the Mopar CAI offers. I using AlfaOBD to monitor the Intake Air Temp. With this CAI and the lower airbox mod stock it's 4 degrees above ambient and stock was 16 degrees above ambient.

Does the difference in inlet air temperature affect your engine performance?

Yes that is the idea to keep the intake temp as near ambient temp for better performance.
On my 2021 Scat Pack Challenger stock it was 8 to 11 degrees above ambient. After I put in the factory Hellcat headlight air tube and Hellcat lower box it dropped it to 3 to 5 above ambient. I've checked using AlfaObd and the JT is 4 degrees above ambient with this CAI and my airbox mod stock was 16 degrees above ambient.

No, the computer makes enough changes that no gain is made buy cold air intakes. It just makes a little noise.

My thoughts exactly. That’s why I posed the question.

@jmr - did you notice any difference in the sound?

I just want an inexpensive CAI that has really good intake sound, and this might work

Since it replaces the factory air tubes Helmholtz resonators you get more induction noise but it's not obnoxiously loud. Also the Afe air filter that it comes with is better than a K&N drop in filter.
I got additional sound and airflow by adapting the larger 2024+ 2.0 Hurricane upper air box lid.
This was done with a silicon 3"x4" reducing coupling to the Afe intake tube.

To me this Afe setup sounds really good for the price.
