So I'm under my 2020 Mojave today and notice this black spot on my muffler. Upon closer inspection I see it's a tiny hole, The question is do you think it's road damage or a thin spot that happened when it was originally welded up? I can see some other similar spatter that leads me to think its welding damage.

What do you think... Have you ever seen this before? And do you think Jeep will cover it?

Weep hole. All mufflers have them. It's fine. It lets condensation out instead of trapping it to rust and rot the inside.

There is nothing wrong, they are made that way.

What Papa said. Just a way to drain water from the exhaust pipe. Water is a by product of combustion.

For example for Methane combustion

CH4 + 2 O2 —> CO2 +2 H2O

Same crap but more numbers and letters with gasoline combustion. I don’t remember that equation lol.

No problem. That’s about the extent of my chemistry knowledge so I know how you feel ?
Rats, I was just getting ready to ask how much ammonium hydroxide I'd need to raise 4 gallons of passivate solution from pH 1.4 to a pH of 1.9
