Is this noise from steering normal?

I noticed when turning the wheel that my steering makes a sound as though air is escaping and it changes depending on the position of the wheel. This may be a stupid question, but is this normal? I'm used to whining sounds from electric assisted steering pumps, but this seemed weird to me. Here's a video.

Not sure if its 'normal' or not but mine makes the same noise, really notice it when backing in the garage with the window open. I assumed it was just the electric hydraulic PS pump doing its thing.

Well, if anyone was interested in an update... the dealer said they could not recreate the issue and that the sound is normal... despite what everyone has said on here after seeing the video... oh, and they also dropped a garage door on my truck and damaged my top and side rail.

Mine is doing the same after the steering gear replacement tab. Any luck getting fixed?

Did you figure out what the issue was? Mine is making this sound now. It started out sounding like yours and now makes this sound.

I have a strange inconsistent sound only when making a right hand turn, I'm attributing it to colder temperatures and rubber bushings of the control arms. I was thinking of taking it into a dealer, your post just change my mind.

To me this sounds like the suspension creaking when you put the load from the steering on it without being in motion. It's hard to tell though without listening to it in person.

Just started noticing this on mine as well. Any updates since you last had it checked out? Sorry to hear about the mishap with the garage door :/

Any updates on this? Did the problem go away on its own or did you just get used to it? I started having this exact same noise a couple days ago at 35,900 miles, so trying to see if it is worth bringing it in for a warranty claim or not before I hit 36k.
