NO, really. When I lift the hood I can hear them sliding around. This all started after I towed my newish 2020 JT Rubicon to Big Bend Country and then spent several days riding on the desert dirt roads. My Jeep was mega dirty when I got home, and It took a full day to get it looking like new again. I noticed when I washed the fender flairs that there were some very small rocks stuck between the front flairs and the body. I got those out with out any trouble. There was also a few rocks stuck in the grills of the pseudo hood vents. Then when I lifted the hood to rinse off the dust in the engine compartment, I heard the sound of gravel sliding down the slope inside the hood. Has anybody noticed this on their Gladiator? Can you get rid of the rocks by dropping the plastic shield on the underside of the hood? How do you remove the pseudo vent covers. I think I want to seal them so this doesn't happen again. Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks in advance.

remove the hood fire wall, unplug the window wash hose and then unclip and unbolt, its fairly easy to remove those hood vents. Dont remember if there is other hood access but I think so, get extra clips before you do it though incase you break some.

yep, mine really hasn't even done much off roading and I have noticed a very similar noise when opening mine. I get all kinds of crap from trees caught in my hood vents.

Thanks for this. I ordered the tubing.
I own two JLs, dumping one for a JT soon. Spent a lot of time since 2017 on the JL forum. Lots of good gouge there.
