After seeing and reading all the stuff here about some of the Jeeps that have been really upgraded, I guess I will sit in the corner a lot since my '16 Willys JKU and '24 Gladiator Rubicon have not really been upgraded that much. I was leaning towards bringing the Willys JKU but maybe the JT Rubicon will handle some of the "bunny trails" to drive on since it does have the stock 33" Falcan Wildpeaks on it and I guess from what I have read, the Rubicons, even in stock form, can handle the Rubicon trail.

So maybe that is the better choice.

So many choices in life. We will see where it takes us.

33s on a gladiator are about the same as 27-28s on a 2 door for break over angle, just bring which ever one is more fun to drive and cruise in.

The Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires 265/70 17's on the Willys JKU come out to just over 31.5 inches so yes, those should be OK. Sorry for being so anal about this, but this is the first one of these events I have been to. Thanks again.

Most of the fun is the cruise and hang, any jeep you bring will work so make it the one you like to hang the most in is all I mean

Great pic. We arrived last evening (Thursday) and went over to the speedway around 10AM. We walked and walked through the vendor exhibits until we were hot and worn out by about 1PM and still only saw half of the place. We are going back in the morning early when it opens at 9AM before it gets too hot.

I was a little sad when people were telling me about the Cracker Ranch place about 30 minutes north of Daytona where they have a cool-looking obstacle course set up. It is even on the registration information. Problem is, it was only open on Wed and Thur and we didn't arrive until Thur evening.

So after the vendor exhibit walk, we did the obstacle course they have set up inside the speedway. I thought they did a good job setting it up. There were 3 routes; Expert, Intermediate and Beginner. I decided to do the intermediate one (which was a good idea, since my Willys Wrangler would never have made it on the expert stuff).

It was a lot of fun except for one obstacle (those concrete jersey dividers or something) and I bottomed out as soon as my front wheels went over the top. I managed to back up, backed down the hill and then drove around it. Other than that, it was challenging but doable for my Willys that has not been lifted.

By the way, the Expert course is really tough. I saw some Jeeps having very difficult times even though they appeared ready to tackle anything. The crowds loved to watch them but I know there will be some significant repair bills based on what I saw.

So back to the rest of the vendors tomorrow (Sat morning). Then I'll see what else is going on.

Forgot to mention, I was surprised by how many Apex 12000 winches i saw in the vendor area on Jeeps that were all modded up (is that a word?) . Some of these are worth well over $100k or more and yet on the front were the Apex winches. Of course there were a large number of Warns also, but overall I was surprised by what I saw.

I'm back today. I'll be around the RealTruck Booth mostly. Come by and say hi!
