I bought a heavy duty smittybilt construction ladder rack from a person on Facebook. It was meant for an 8ft truck bed but, I cut off and modified the frame to fit. It sits about 3"off of the roof of the cab. I've still got some welding to do and then paint. I don't know if I want to powder coat, black oxide coating, or line-x or a urethane coating.
So, far I think I'm the only one with this type of bed rack. If I ever build one I'll use aluminum and carbon fiber.
