Anyone in pigeon forge yet? Didn’t see any threads when I searched so don’t hate me if I missed one. Seen quite a few rigs so far yesterday.

Piddling around this week until the event if anyone has anything fun to do.

Nothing to do with Jeeps... If you are looking for something to do... there is a bird/parrot type of tourist spot up there that is right behind DollyWood. Check it out. IT's a surprisingly fantastic time!

I had no idea about this and incidentally I'm starting a road trip this weekend and my first stop will be PF/Gatlinburg on the 27th the day after it's over. Wish I knew about this before.

We drove up from FL. Enjoyed the much cooler temps up in the mountains. Pigeon Forge was hot as hell. Tons and tons of Jeeps.

Now for my rant. Whoever was in charge of Jeep Invasion should be fired or quit. Having people stand in line for over 2 hours in the heat, just to get in to the event is crazy. Only being able to purchase one day passes is just dumb. So let's just say you went Thursday and thought about going back on Friday or Saturday. Guess what? You get to stand in line again for probably another two hours!!

We went on Thursday and got there an hour before it opened and still stood in line for nearly two hours.

I am sorry but that is just very poor planning. I suggest that whoever made that decision should have to stand in line every day to get in. Bet they'd change that in a heart beat! There were people who felt like they were having medical issues because of the heat and just left standing in line and left.

Secondly, you need more concession vendors. Standing in line for 30 minutes to get a bottle of water is crazy. Of course there were no concessions outside while waiting in line. You should consider changing the time of year of the even since it is so large and it's still summer time.

Overall the show was good. Crowds were crazy and people parking up to a mile away just to get inside was something to see.

Here is a pic someone took. The cars at the bottom of the pic are parked. You can barely see the other end of the parking lot and that's not all the parking either.

First off, happy I came and I’m enjoying the whole experience. That said:
We arrived Wednesday. Went to the show earlier Thursday morning and waited in the same line. I’m sure nobody expected record heat, but I agree with you. Poor planning and a wasted opportunity to make a butt load of money selling water to people in line. I personally watched a few couples leave do to the heat. We tried to go to the outside vendors in the upper parking area. I was sweating so bad I had to leave without seeing half of it. The mountains were a nice experience. Went to the dome. It was 68 degrees at the top and 97 on the Main Street going through pigeon forge.

Totally agree with all the points made. We likely will not be going back to this show. You leave everyone, including handicap folks sitting for 3 plus hours in line. No bathroom access. No water. Nothing. You expect people to be dumb enough to do that more than one day to get in? Hard pass.

Based on many, many conversations we are not the only people that will likely not go back.

Pigeon forge overall was not super accessible if you use a wheelchair. There are plenty of other destinations that are much easier to navigate and get around. The sky bridge was terrible at Leconte with wheelchair.

Vendors were all great.
