Well, looks like I will be skipping the trip to the dealer. Went to the store Saturday and the UConnect is back to normal. All the apps that were missing have returned and I can once again set the temperature for climate control.
When the battery is disconnected, you will lose apps, Sirius XM, some automatic HVAC controls, and I don't remember what else. But there appears to be a Mother Ship that the vehicles check in with every day or so. I lost all of that when I disconnected my battery a month ago. The next morning, all was back to normal. I assume the Mother Ship flew over some time during the night.

@Moabite , beam me up.

Seriously though, what happens 10-15 years from now if we need to replace the batteries? Did I miss the part of my purchase contract that says I am renting the apps on my infotainment system and they can remove them at will. I believe you're probably correct but this seems like a faulty system to me. As often as Chrysler changes hands who says this will be supported in the future? Climate control doesn't seem like something they should be able to remove from my vehicle if they no longer support it.

My attempt as the uConnect explanation is mothership-ish and what seems to be a base program installed on all systems. When disconnected (for long enough) it will revert to the default and wait for a sat. signal to convey its ID possibly related to vehicle option codes, etc. This will then further "activate" hopefully contained in the system but possibly download the proper batch of capabilities.

That all being said...HVAC controls should be basics that are available at all times (temp, fan, direction)...with Auto and seat heaters, sirius etc. be addons for the reboot.

Sounds like you definitely kinked a fuel line. It’s great that you straightened it but you should still have it checked. Once that plastic is linked, it could become a weak point and kink again causing you the same issue. As you hit a log, don’t expect warranty sympathy.

mad far as the A/C controls, I have no idea unless you knocked a ground loose and fixed it when you reconnected the batteries.
