08 JKUR but looking for JT
Hi. I am looking to upgrade to a jt, but need the extra interior room the JKU offers. I know maby of you are in multiple jeep households, does anyone know if a 4 door top will fit on a JT? Mainly front and door attachments and profiles. I know there is a gap between the bed and can which allows flex but the 3 row mod build pages claim that there is not enough flex there to worry about.

My current setup is that I built a platform in our jku for the rear that is flush with the top of the tailgate. When we travel, we have a child in a car seat in the back seat and our dogs lay on a dog bed on the platform in the rear. I would like to replicate this setup in the truck, which will also net us exterior storage for a generator, firewood, gas cans, etc. stuff we don’t want in the cab with us. Can it be done? I estimate we will still have 2.5-3ft of the bed accessible with the 4 door top on. I am also tempted to see if our soft top will fit but that will require fabricating angled rear Pilars.

thanks. I’m anxious to see what you all say.

Not without extensive modification. The JK me JT have some subtle body line differences too and I won’t look good either imo And I’m not even sure they measure the same.

@Jefe1018 is correct. There would be no way to attach the rear bottom edge unless you fabricated a mounting point. You would probably also need to tie in the bed to the cab to make them a more solid one piece. Even just a little flex would be disastrous to fiberglass.

Might I suggest a set of Decked Drawers and a hard shell to get the same effect?

At the end of the day, anything is possible. This one would take significant customization to achieve. Additionally, I've witnessed the flex between the cab and the bed so I'd be hesitant to recommend bridging that gap without some kind of structural reinforcement in that area to minimize it.

If I were you, I'd look into custom bed caps rather than trying to use an extended hard top from a JL/JK. It would be an easier route to go.
