Ok, got the cables loose to plug into the programming cable. Good thing I have rubber mats to catch the blood.
Here is my question. I saw in other posts that you can buy extension cables that you leave plugged in and never have to do the skin removal trick.
How do these cables work? Plug one end back into the connector housing I get. But what do I do with the other end? Does it plug into the programming cable? Are the cables I unplugged that are usually plugged into the programming cable unused?
After unplugging the extension cables from the programming cable do I plug them into the original cable removed?
Hope my question was phrased clearly.
Can't do the reach up and bleed truck anytime I want to change a setting.

Thanks

With help from a forum member I now know the answer. Sometimes the solution is so simple I don't see it.

Plug them in. Leave them connected. Reconnect the odb to the extension cable. no more bloody knuckles.

I just did this last night. So glad I bought the extension cables! Size 3X hands didn't help!

You can get these cables from Amazon .... I actually received 2 sets for the price of the Tazer cables (which were out of stock at the time). I have had no problems with them.
