Looking for a good solution rather than going with a rear bumper and swingout. I'm open to different ideas, but think the vertical type "wheel chock" style would be best for space sake. If anyone is currently running one or has run across some please share what you found or post up some pics which would be even better! Thanks

Any reason you aren't using the stock location?

Not sure it’ll fit a 34-35” tire for one. Much easier to get to being up topside should you get a flat and be on trail and in a position where it’s difficult to access.

I went with this one for safety reasons trying to change a tire in CHICAGO traffic as they fly by you.

Yeah I ran across that one but it'll kill all visibility out the back. Probably end up going with the ADD/Hammerhead style to take up as little room as possible and still have all the bed I can use. If the cost of one is less than a bumper with a swingout I'll end up going this route. Also keeps my length down and anything else from dragging out back in regard to departure angle.

Still not sure what I'm going to do about mounting a fridge, and can't see taking up most of the cab space for one. Bed slides are heavy but not sure what other options I've got. Or what the cost difference will equate to finding an outdoor rated fridge vs not. Granted it'll be covered mostly by my tent, but not stay dry as if I had a cap already, which is where I plan to get to down the road.

Your 35 will fit fine underneath but access and departure angle concerns are legit. I’ve got my 315/70/17 mounted in stock location but probably wouldnt if i were banging rocks a lot.

Check out DV8 Offroad. They have two designs.

The baja style is pretty cool because it can be raised and lowered. The vertical one solves your visibility issue.

if you are doing fridge mounts, overlanding gear, etc I have seen folks fabricate a high mount using a winch system like is used in stock location and mount the tire on the ceiling of a full height rack. The fab fours racks could work really well for this given their height and design. You’d have to think thru center of gravity issues but just depends on your overall load plan.

Yeah the standup version isn't bad, the other seems pretty involved for what it is and the little space you'd gain underneath. There are the others I found:

These chase style racks are clean if you are ok drilling holes. Look also for jack mounts, have seen racks like this online with an off road jack mount/air tank mount as well

you may have to fabricate the mounts. Here’s a couple for a raptor, gives the general idea. Lots of discussion on this in trx/raptor land. The wrong design can shake apart your bed if doing high speed running.
