I like to do most mods myself, but after learning about needing to cut the seat buckets and running lines to the fuse box, I didn’t necessarily feel like getting into installing the Katzkin and Degreez system, but had a hard time finding a shop that was willing to do it since it’s not recommended by Katzkin. They don’t recommend because you have to cut part of the seat bucket to avoid the airbag system. Anyhow… Auto Style in Oldsmar, Fl was willing to do it and they nailed it. Dropped off Friday morning and got the leathers installed with the Degreez system and they did the window tinting as well and were done by Saturday afternoon. About $3500 including all labor and materials. I think the windows covered $300ish of that cost. The seats are awesome. Slightly more cushy than the Gladiator leather and firmer than the Gladiator cloth seats. Perfect middle ground and the cooling feels amazing here in Fl.

Ventilated seats require perforations. Perforations are not ideal in a vehicle designed to get dirt, mud, sand, dust, and water inside it. I am having my katzkins installed this friday and this is my reasoning at least for not getting cooled seats.

That’s true but they do have the perforated leather seats as an option so it should be an option for ventilated when you build

The perforated leather that jeep offers is not a "factory" option, it's an "accessory" option. It's actually katzkin just like OP and I are talking about. Sent out to a 3rd party for completion just like the spray-in bed liners.

I get that’s but it’s still an option for perforated as an upcharge, even though it’s not “ideal” it can be optioned out for that so ventilated seats should be too along with it, otherwise perforated shouldn’t be an option you can add since it’s not “ideal”

I do a lot of fun things with my truck, but I don’t go mudding. If I did, I’d probably avoid the perforations. For my adventure uses, I don’t have to worry too much about mud in the holes.

I think it’s important to note, they’re not just ventilated air blowing on you… it’s cold air cooled with their heat exchanger and its quite cold at its highest setting. It feels very nice and feels like a necessity here ?

The price point of these things I doubt few actually do go mudding and if they do I doubt they get back into the truck with mud all over their jeans

Had these in my JL and highly recommend them. I'm in Austin and used the cooling feature nearly year round. The heat was great for our occasional cold spells and mountain trips. My Wrangler saw temps from 110 down to -28. Seats made both a little more bearable.

Any details on this (kit used, issues, tips)? I want to do the same with my cloth seats.
