A few reference photos for anyone considering going:
Furnace-Pilot section:
downhill here, mud & rocks:
Turned around shortly after due to clearance issues; had to winch to get back up this spot:
Fincastle section:
did not cross the creek; came from the other direction. This shot gives perspective on the size of rocks we see in so many utoob vids:
