Ok, if that's how it's classified. Honestly, doesn't seem very "custom", considering the only choice is color. These could have been produced and waiting in the wings months ago.
Trust me, I’ve tried this argument too. Nobody else can see that logic, nor does it matter if you haven’t custom ordered at least 4 cars before.
I feel the same way. I don't see the logic of people that didn't read the website, the paperwork they signed or have any understanding of what they were buying.

I will not comment again on any order timing.

Must have missed that on the website, the paperwork I signed, or any of the leaked dealer info that was put on this site before anyone knew the LE was a thing.

Feel free to post the links to the Jeep site that has all of the delivery timelines, and by all means hit us with that scan of your signed paperwork with your date and delivery info.

But we'll all be missing out... You have your thoughts on how things are done and I have mine. Its an internet forum; you keep telling people the reality of the situation based off of nobody having a VIN for their LE, and I'll keep replying that there has to be a stockpile of Launch Editions somewhere because of a Jeep conspiracy.

I bet they planned to make a surprise announcement tomorrow to commemorate 4/19 (419 area code) about vins, or start placing vins on orders tomorrow and shipping them to dealers - cause they built them before hand without paint and then planned to run them through that process once orders were allocated. On or around 4/4.

But they failed. The presale caused them all sorts of issues. They sent the email out last night after they got all of their orders allocated , and will now begin painting them all and hopefully start shipping by May.

I think they meant to have them out before May, but missed the boat with the presale.

I did some bare aluminum JTs inside the plant a few weeks ago but they most certainly weren't on the line being finished in full trim. Painting a JT after it was built would make for some unhappy buyers. At most they would have finished 500 units with the anticipation of them being sold. There's no formula to make 4,190 units built to the customer's choice of color.

Agreed. All other posts re. “Custom orders” are irrelevant. Here’s to all of us “LE” people. :) :) Btw I read all paperwork I signed and all small print on website. From business stand point, only makes sense to launch with the Launch Edition.

-Production of Launch Editions will conclude at the end of August
-Customers who select Granite Crystal exterior paint will be late availability
-In order to "reserve" a Launch Edition, customer must first register through the dedicated pre-order website
-MSRP is $62,310.

I’m going to agree with tanman. I think his logic is sound. Paint idea, not so much but the theory is great. I just know that where I’m from I’m going to be the only mf’er around driving a JTLE no matter how they’re delivered! I’m in the boonies in Upstate New York. My dealer is sure on the status of my preorder for the LE but not certain when he will even receive his 1 allocated JT.

Hmm...any speculation on what they are for?

Looks like production ending in August didn’t mean they wouldn’t start until then. A handful of LE VINs got assigned today! My order is in “C” status as of today.

“Thank you for holding Nathan. Congratulations on your New Purchase of 2020 Jeep Gladiator. Order is in the scheduling phase of the manufacturing process. The parts required to build the vehicle are being scheduled and as soon as they available and ready, order will be scheduled for build. Most orders are scheduled for build within 30 days after reaching this stage. C status, no VIN provided as of yet.”
