Yea in 78 I had a new tricked out Scout II TERRA truck
Yes sir, those were the days. My first vehicle in 1982 was a 1969 Scout 800B half cab with the 266V8...and some lights.

If you run LEDs and live in an area with snow and ice, consider carrying a can of spray de-icer. It’s sold on Amazon and at Walmart… probably many other locations. Even halogens can get a nice coating of snow and ice if it’s cold enough.
This is true, especially if they are recessed. My first car had DOT standard 7" sealed beam halogens and despite the heat of halogen, they would still ice over in bad weather.

In storms I'd pull over on a ramp to manually clear the lights off.

My JT headlights have iced over in the snow even, I have stock halogen lights. Not warm enough to melt the snow or ice being set back. I don't even want to think about LED lights in blizzard condition. Heck, I get high beamed flashed with them on lowbeam anyway too.

I was driving in some icy conditions the other day and when I stopped I noticed that my auxiliary lights were iced up but the JW Speaker headlights with the built-in heaters were ice free. Yes JW Speaker sells LED headlights with heating elements on the glass and the heaters work.
