i have the Mopar lift but kind of wanted to use stock wheels. Seems with the narrow axles we get in the sport 6 speed, the 35s will rub. I am also considering 285/75r17. They are a half inch shorter (33.9 vs 34.4) but narrower and much lighter. Decisions, decisions. This picture was before my lift, but yes I am using wheel spacers. You can really feel the added tire weighti have the Mopar lift but kind of wanted to use stock wheels. Seems with the narrow axles we get in the sport 6 speed, the 35s will rub. I was going to get the 285/75R17 Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT which weigh 57lbs each according to Tire Rack's site. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...SR7DAXLT&vehicleSearch=false&fromCompare1=yesi have the Mopar lift but kind of wanted to use stock wheels. Heh, I just left there in January. Was with H&S Co. from '17-'20. (I'm a POG)My bad , just noticed, Semper Fi brother. 1st battalion 8th marines Weapons Co 81's 95'-99' here.
I just got the JKS J-Spec 3.5" lift on, but haven't had it out wheeling since due to the situation out there. I did want to point out though, the only rubbing I experienced offroad before the lift was due to up travel and very minor. There was never any rubbing turning lock to lock.i have the Mopar lift but kind of wanted to use stock wheels. Seems with the narrow axles we get in the sport 6 speed, the 35s will rub. Good to know ... most guys have wide axles, and most of them have rubicons ... feel like a red headed step childI just got the JKS J-Spec 3.5" lift on, but haven't had it out wheeling since due to the situation out there. I put 315/70 KO2s on the stock Sport wheels. I really like the look, but the shop that did the install claimed they had trouble balancing a few of the wheels because they were too narrow. They encouraged me to go to 8.5” or wider wheels soon. I’ve read plenty of posts of folks running 315/70s on 7.5” with no problems, though, so I’m going to stick with em for a bit. Adding the 1.5” front and .75” rear spacer lift next week.
