Leveling a diesel with added weight

I have a 21 rubicon diesel that currently has teraflex spacers up front to level it out. Even with the 1.5” of spacers it wasn’t completely leveled and bottoms out up front pretty easy. I recently added a winch and bumper and the factory shocks and springs are not going to cut it. I don’t want the truck taller than stock in the rear and just want to level the front out. I’m wondering if anyone has added 2.5” springs, shocks and a track bar up front on a diesel that has a winch and aftermarket bumper? Or is there a company that offers a leveling kit for the front with this in mind?

How do you define level?

Level as in what it was when 100% stock?

Or some other definition as described by aftermarket manufacturers, which seems to vary from manufacturer to manufacturer?

I think you want to end up with the front slightly higher than stock?

I've heard that Rock Krawler is coming out with a diesel specific 1.5" I think in February.

The front is lower than the rear. Both when you look at the truck and when you throw a bubble on the frame. If the stock shocks and springs could support a winch and small bumper I’d probably just leave it.

How do you define level?

Level as in what it was when 100% stock?

I’ve got a similar setup. Rubi diesel with a winch on the OEM steel bumper. So you say with the 1.5” spacer it still bottoms out bad? That sucks, I was out in the desert this weekend and the bottoming was horrible. Was hoping a spacer kit would temporarily fix this until I decide on a full lift.

The stock springs are too soft. A spacer won’t fix that. I’d steer you to the mopar diesel lift. Yeah, it’ll lift the rear, too. With a winch and steel bumper you’ll need to add -.75 to 1” spacer to get it more level.

maybe try frint springs only and then a small spacer in the rear to level it up?

sell the rear springs to someone with the gas who wants a 2” lift but has extra weight in the bed?

My brain can’t wrap around the fact that adding a 1 1/2” spacer to the spring widens the gap between the bumpstop and contact pad. I get that it may not fix the problem but it must help. No? I ordered the teraflex last night and it arrived today. Love Amazon. Let’s see how this goes.

My brain can’t wrap around the fact that adding a 1 1/2” spacer to the spring widens the gap between the bumpstop and contact pad. I get that it may not fix the problem but it must help. No? I ordered the teraflex last night and it arrived today. Love Amazon. Let’s see how this goes.
It does help by creating space between bump stop and landline pad, but the spring is too soft.

Ok, I see what I was missing. The kit comes with 1” bump stop extensions as well. Any harm in leaving these out?

Ok, I see what I was missing. The kit comes with 1” bump stop extensions as well. Any harm in leaving these out?

if only going to run 35s, you’re fine.

37s and you probably will need them. Any comment as I’m still on 35s

I just went from the Teraflex 1.5” leveling kit up front to the Mopar 2” Ecodiesel specific lift. Ended up only installing the Mopar springs, Fox shocks, and control arms up front.
Mine sets 3/8” higher in the rear without touching the backend at all now. I do have a steel front bumper/winch combo. Like where it sits now but I am adding just a 3/4” spacer in the back. Love the way it rides and handles now, bottomed out super easy in front before. Even with the 1.5” spacers in. I had the Metal Cloak Durospring bump stops up front prior and in the cold they may have well been made of steel. When the Jeep would bottom out, which it did frequently even over slight bumps it was painfully jarring with those in place. Replaced them with some Daystar TJ specific bumps that fit tight but did fit. Kept the Teraflex lower bump stop extension cup it place. Jeep really blew it with the stock front spring rate. Mopar replacement 2”ers are spot on so far. I’ve got a 21 Sport Ecodiesel on 35’s. I even tried the Rubicon diesel shocks as a bandaid for the weak stock front springs but they seemed valved even softer than the stockers to me ??‍♂
