Lift kit recommendation

I have no plans for off-roading, and I'd like to spend less than $1000, But I'd some extra ground clearance (a couple inches) for snow and water obstacles (it floods here sometimes). Can anyone recommend a lift kit?

Watch the marketplace here and pick up a 2" Mopar lift, almost always under $1000. Brand new you can get them for ~ $1200.

if you dont plan for any offroading or much of anything, just do a spacer lift.

I had just the 2.5" ReadyLift sst kit installed on mine and complete with install and alignment I was out the door at $801. I added Rubicon take off front springs and shocks and I'm all in at $1095. Here are two pictures of mine with just the 2.5 and with the Rubicon springs added to the front

The Rubicon front springs helped level it out, I still got a 1/4" of rake but that's what I was looking for for towing purposes. I also have 1.75" wheel spacers installed and I have a Max tow.

Well the lift doesn't actually improve ground clearance. Its the tires that do that. What size tire are you planning to go to & what model JT are you starting with.

Im going to chime in to both...

For a sport & 35's you dont really need much (lots of folks go with none) if any lift. Tire/Wheel choice is actually more important & trimming or ditching the silly little air dam's that connect the front bumper to the fenders as thats the point that you hit.

The 2 common ways of lifting these trucks is with longer springs or spacers. Spacers add height to the springs you already have where as longer springs replace the springs you have all together. Depending on how much lift you want a spacer lift can suit your needs for WAY less money.

On my Sport (w/ Max Tow) I changed the front springs to rubicon take off's which gave me about 3/4" & added 3/4" spacers for a total lift of 1.5" up front & that got rid of a lot of the factory rake & gave plenty of room for 35" tires. Total cost for me for that was 175 bucks (though most would spend a little more as I got a really good deal on the rubicon take off parts, the 3/4" spacers are only 40 bucks on amazon) and I also ended up with the upgraded Fox Shocks (better then stock sport shocks, but not as good as true aftermarket fox shocks).
