So my Mojave didnt have the locking storage bin so I ordered one and the 2 locks was hoping the locks would be similar to the gas cap but they are a little different has anybody keyed their own glovebox or armrest box that would have an idea on how to do these. Last resort is going to the dealer If I cant figure it out.

The silver pins are just like the gas cap what is throwing me off is the black one on the right side of the picture

So it is pretty much like the locking gas cap the only thing I cannot figure out if the black little plunger goes in the front or back of the lock

Black on mine went towards the front where the key goes in. The first time I did it i thought at the back of the cylinder. On mine that was incorrect and I had to drill the cylinder out . Did the extra cylinder that I ordered in case I screwed up and put the Black with its own spring in the front towards where the key would be inserted and it worked. Inserted the fob key and gently turned and it finally locked into place. If you insert with the Black tumbler at the rear and insert the cylinder it won't come out and that's why I ended up drilling the cylinder out carefully. If drilling you dont want to damage the box itself(expensive to replace). Hope this helps. As I said this was for mine and I won't guarantee anyone elses. Good luck.
