This will be my second year with the Voyager on my JT and third year with one on my wife’s JLU. Both run hard tops during fall and winter, Voyager during spring and summer.

It’s well worth the money to have a top that gives that “almost” topless feel but is there when you need it in a pinch. As mentioned above, it will fold up above the soundbar.

Send a message to @RealTruck here and see if they are still running a forum special. It was well below the $1000 you mentioned.

From the completely folded position as shown, it takes maybe 10 minutes to return to completely covered. It takes about 3 minutes to return to a safari top style setup.

ok i was intrigued by this top...now with your pics and comments, i'm even more interested. would love to hear others thoughts.
when you say "safari style" do you mean just unfold the front and back for light rain cover? And full coverage would be back window added, right?

how's it do with leaking around the header/windshield and doors (if doors on). not looking for full waterproof, just trying get a sense. i really love my sunrider for hardtop, but this almost seems like "sunrider++" . sunrider is full waterproof though, and was great when i parked overnight outside. finally got the garage cleaned up so im covered parking at home and at work. so now im shopping again

Yes, by safari style I mean where it covers from front to rear, no rear window or quarters. Unfold the front, unfold the rear and you have basic coverage.

As for leaking, we drove down to Pigeon Forge last year for a long weekend. On the way, there were some severe rainstorms. At one point, traffic on the highway was down to about 20 mph due to how much rain was falling and how much was already on the roads. This was the same time that a lot of the state of Kentucky experienced flooding.
The top didn’t leak a drop. Nothing nowhere so it’s waterproof for sure.
If I had any complaints, it would be that around 85 mph when it’s in the “full coverage” mode, there is a bit of a loud drone sound from the top. Not a huge deal, just drive slower or faster and it goes away!

A “Sunrider++” would be a very accurate way to describe it lol.

dang that looks nice.
Idk why no one can make a top option that does this same thing but rolls front and back secure with straps no windows or anything fancy like 250.00 or less.

roll up tonneau cover is basically that, and i think new for the upgraded twill fabric is still in the 700-800 range. Not sure if any is less than 500ish. i like the idea of basically just a roof top tonneau cover, however I really prefer the ability to just pop the front open/closed from the drivers seat, very little effort. would be a nice option if the voyage came in a "basic" version though, if you didn't want the "windows"

i use the hardtop all winter, switch to the softtop for spring to fall. weather here varies greatly as well. mine came with the dual top, but when i check the local marketplaces, some sell for $2500, some under $1000 since there are so many soft tops around. and that is Canadian dollars.

Ordered the Rugged Ridge Savannah Brief top from Amazon… and it arrived yesterday. I’d already watched the one install video, so it looked pretty straight-forward. There are pins on the window channel which prevents you from making too much adjustment other than rocking it forward or back…. Unfortunately….. we could not get the bolts/holes lined up!! We could get the one side partially bolted (threads started) but the other side was 1/2” off.

We took the canvas off ….and tried to install the window channel bare. Same thing… we could not get the bolt holes to line up at all.

This was supposed to be something we could whip on and whip off while driving around - and already, we were struggling with it. I really wanted this to work - the top itself is a nice think canvas and very well made. So, I’m bummed that it didn’t work. We only paid $182 for it when I ordered it last week. I don’t know if there was something ‘wrong’ on the window channel itself (placement of the pin & hole) or if the 2024 is different ??

My search continues….

I was in the same boat and ended up with the voyager soft top. Take a look at my posts for a detailed review. it's functional if you understand what you're getting. If you want an oem fit/seal get the oem.
