Looking for Off-Roading Modifications

Hey there! I’m a new Gladiator Willys owner and I’m looking to explore some suggested/necessary modifications I may need to to do some off-roading!

This is my everyday driver but, we are planning a 1,300mi road trip to Colorado this fall.

I was thinking about a leveling kit and some larger BFG T/A KO2 tires could be a good start. But how big of tires would I need to go? 33”-35”?

What else are must haves for off-roading? My friend has a winch on his wrangler. We both have recovery straps. I’m guessing a shovel, gloves, hi-lift jack would be good ideas also?

Sorry for very open question. I’m just getting very excited to start my journey with my Gladiator and would love some input from this week seasoned community
