Not resolved but I guess I just live with it. I believe it’s the electric power steering pump. I get it only when the motor and fluids are cold. Once everything gets up to operating temp it goes away. It may also be that ive gotten used to the sounds and it doesn’t show up on my radar as much. It hasn’t caused any issues but I only have 600 miles on my JT since buying it last summer.

Anyone else ever resolve this. I joined this forum just for this thread. I got 20,000 on my gladiatior this mysterious anxiety inducing mythical squeaking has been here for the last 2,000 can’t figure it out, being a journeyman myself, the shop that did my suspension work, and two dealers telling me “they can’t replicate the sound.” Even though it squeaked like a rubber ducky on meth all the way up to me and my wife as the tech drove it up, the phantom squeek persists. Hitting every grease point, bushing, moving part, to no avail...almost sounds like the beginning of a bearing going out it’s definitely a metal on metal sounds and infuriatingly enough is exasperated by the cold. Not necessarily brought on by it but 100% the cold makes it louder and more persistent for the first few brakings/stop, unless I’m going up hill in extremely slow stop and go traffic then it’s consistently inconsistent in the fact it make a the noise but almost not with the movement of the rims effin lost man. Turn right also makes it louder and I feel as if the sound travels between the passenger front and rear. After digging into the suspension I think after work today I’m going to break into the brakes and see if I cant find the culprit. Maybe a piston dragging, bolts gunked up, broken clip etc.. It’s strange I’ve scoured the web and have found countless complaints of this squeek and no universal resolve from mopar or other owners on where it’s coming from. And just like other noise can’t be replicated just by rocking/moving truck, and only makes it at extremely low speeds.

my bad for rambling y’all

I didn’t read your whole post, too much blah blah blah LOL, but spray the front and rear of each grommet on your 3 exhaust hangers to start...this was an issue that developed on mine....the noise sounded like metal on metal grinding, but wasn’t...

Second,
Pull the pins on both your lower ball joint studs and retorque the castle nuts on both ball joints, this was metal on metal grinding on mine, and a known issue in the JL community which carried over to the JTs...

So it’s not like a warped brake rotor squeak?

yessir that’s understandable but I prefer to be thorough leaves less to the imagination. That being said between me and the off-road shop we’ve greased, retorqued, re-hit, re-tickled ever nut, nipple, and ball...joint at least 3 times now even check from rubbing on the track bars because known issues with jl and nada

I’ll check them hangars when I get down there thanks for that tip and I’ll still be rechecking the ball joints too better be safe then sorry

No sir, nor the feel of one. I’ve checked my brakes previous pad wear was even, clips were fine, but I’ve seen a few guys with the c clips break or having the piston drag etc thinking maybe I overlooked something

Can you put it on 4 jack stands, put it in 4wd, and put it in gear while someone else controls throttle and brake? You could then crawl around and try to isolate it. I had a squeak at the passenger rear. I found that the axle flange had bent while offroad, causing the rotor/pads to squeak. That was a good excuse to upgrade to Chromoly shafts.

I have the steering whine that developed on Sun. Every time I turn the wheel to the left the power steering pump whines. It will not whine when I turn to the right, but as soon as I go back to center, or turn left and return to center from left it whines. Weird.

Took it to the dealer, took the service manager for a drive around the lot and he agreed not normal. Booked in for next Wed to have this addressed.

Well, the dealer had the vehicle for 2 days and came up with a diagnosis of a failing FL wheel bearing.
Parts on order and will arrive next week.

I just had a leaky axle replaced and now I'm getting this same squeak. I initially thought it was my spare rubbing against the track bar, but I dropped my spare and the sound didn't go away however it seems like it was reduced.

My sound is a rubber squeaking like if you were walking a rubber tire sideways on a tile floor. It only happens at an extreme turn (both directions) but less than full lock. It seems to be coming from the rear passenger, not the front. I'm taking it back to the dealership to have them diagnose further. I'll get video beforehand. No one here to drive in circles right now.
