I searched a bit, but might not know enough lingo to make the search work for me.

I'm just starting the planning phase for next years suspension upgrades.

Build plan will be 37s on JTR, I ran this only old JTR w/o issue. However, this time around, I'd like to do a minimal lift kit.
2-2.5" max if possible.

More of along the lines of a low-key looking truck, kinda Aussie style, but with purpose as listed in the next statement.

The JTR will pull duty as a daily, also a hauler and overall long trips.
I kind of dislike the "overlanding" reference, but it would be similar is set up and weight and exploring ability, but also not so much camping, etc.

I know from personal experience that 37s fit and maximize ground clearance while allowing me to keep the suspension lower.
I live on the East coast, but will travel to the West and intend to do trails that are moderate. I have no real desire to roll up and down 7s & up (rocks or mud).

Suspension Kits:
A lot of kits show off features, but oddly, do not point out what I think is incredibly important, total suspension travel both up and dow

My question is about how to maximize overall up travel and down travel with a stock to 2.5" lift.

1) I think that I'd prefer a shock with adj. so I can tune for on and off road performance.
- Is there a shock available that you can add to a stock JTR that might allow better travel by itself?
---> In my head, it seems like a slightly shorter bodied shock might allow better up travel, thus better bump performance.
( I am aware that this would be ok with 33s or maybe 35s, but with 37s pointless as my old stock JTR just barely kept from rubbing at flex)

2) Spring recommendation. In my mind, a dual or triple rate spring might mean better down travel, but only up travel if the spring allows some lift first.
---> Again, being new to off road suspension, I'm thinking aloud and hoping someone can say, "dude, way off," or "you're on the right track."

I plan to use bars and brackets for angle correction(s) as needed.

So, is there a brand that I'm missing that talks the numbers that I'm looking for? Or is it call each company and just ask?

Am I missing any important questions or just missing something blatantly in front of my face?

Thx ahead of time.
