Not sure if it’s a problem with the unit. It’s reading the usb but the library appears to be too large for Uconnect to index….
This might be what @Alan_Hepburn was mentioning where it wants a sub-folder or two. Are all the files in the root directory? If so, I'd put them in a few folders and see if that helps it build the library.

All of the files are organized from my iTunes library folder.
Every artist and album has a folder -

Artist/Album/songs in album.

I've used a 64gb thumb drive with stuff copied of CDs via my desktop. Works fine.

He was being sarcastic.

What format (file extension) are the files in?
I guess you could test the indexing theory by starting over and just loading a dozen or so files.

Ah.

The format are primarily .mp3 with some .aac.

I did try a small flash drive with both extensions and they were able to load and be indexed.

I still can't understand how some folks are using 128GB flash drives are 1TB HDD/SSD's and being able to have uconnect index the files.

I have uconnect 4 w/7inch screen. Wonder if that matters?

I initially tried exfat which had the same results.

does anyone here think I should just leave my Jeep on and let Uconnect try to index 70gb of music? How long should that take?

I would think that the U Connect platform would be the same regardless of screen size, but there may be some firmware generational differences.
I was just wondering the other day if there's any way to manually update the firmware, or if even the dealer can do it.
I'm nearly certain it's Linux based?
