yea, I’m not seeing a $95 tire either. $300+ is what I’m seeing. Plus they’re 285’s which isn’t all that close to a 35. Would seem closer to a 33 or possibly a 34. I run BFG 315/70R17’s and they only measure out to ~34.6 (or was it 34.4? can’t remember). I’m not familiar with the manufacturer but $95 a tire?

It is a 35, more like 34.8. Maxxis is also a well known brand in the offroad world.

Same here, seeing $300/tire. Kind of a bummer, because I'm hoping for 35"s this year and at $95 for Maxxis it's hard to go wrong.

Walmart at it again. I've taken advantage of their ridiculously low prices on tires before. Now that I am looking for 35s I haven't come across anything on 17". I check every day. ?

Hmm, interesting. I’m guessing those are the manufacturers numbers and maybe they’re accurate, but it would be much bigger in diameter than any 285’s I’ve seen, BFG’s specifically. Btw, if Walmart is who will be mounting them and your wheels are still in good shape, you might want to check and make sure they use Hunter machines or some other reputable brand. . For some odd reason, some around here do and some don’t.

285 is the width of the tire so it doesn’t directly correlate with the height.

285 is width, 35 is height. one has nothing to do with the other. A tire mnfr could make 285/70r22s if they wanted to and it would be a 285 AND a 38"

Yea, I understand how to read tire specs. My thought isn’t changed. 35” for a 285 would still be greater than any other 285 I shopped when I had them before upsizing to 315’s. The whole reason I went with 315’s was to achieve something closer to a 35. (I wanted some width too). If this 285 is really close to a true 35 then it just makes me aware that manufacturers vary more than I realized.
